Black Sea Summer Camp 24 August - 2 September Infos
OK people, here we go: the idea of
this camp is to have fun while bringing people together. Sounds
familiar? OK you hospitality club guys, you know what this is about, go
directly to "How to get there" :) Now, for those of you who haven't heard this phrase before, take a look on www.hospitalityclub.org or www.couchsurfing.com !!!
So, first of all, if you like the idea of comming here, please register!! Do it now! it will
take you 1 min and will help us a lot with the organisation!
The place
Vama Veche is a small village
on the Black Sea coast which hasn't entered the t♦ourism industry (yet).
You're free to put your tent anywhere, including the beach. You can
make fires, play guitar whenever you want, wherever you want.
|
 | Nobody will come and say you're not allowed to. It's the perfect place to camp!
The people
You want to discover people from all
over the world, make good friends and have lots of fun? Once again this
is the place to come. In fact this is the main idea... Hmmm, if
you haven't got it yet, take another look on HC / CS!!

Have you ever wanted to explore Eastern Europe? NOW it's the time! Eastern Europeans,
have you ever wondered how many nice people live in this part of the
world? I did, and I'll soon find out. Recon I'll not be disappointed.
Come together brothers and let's keep alive the myth about hospitality and
party in Eastern Europe.
What will we do?
Everything!! Ha-ha.
First of all make friends. Then play football / volleyball and all
the beach, water and drinking games that you'll ever want. We'll
also have drums, guitars and workshops on lots of interesting
subjects,... Who will do all this? Surprise: YOU! I expect everybody
to participate. It's our camp and it's all up to us if it's gonna
rock or if it's gonna suck!
The camp is for free and
self-organising! It is based on every one's initiative!! So I would like to see
as many alive people as possible.
What to bring
Most importantly, a good mood. A
tent would be good as well. You might find people on the spot who have
spare places, or if not you'll have to sleep in the sand :) There are some hostels as well (see the next paragraph about prices)
Oh, by the way guys,
hope you remember what we've just discussed... Bring a guitar with
you, think about a game we can play, think about a subject and make a
workshop on that. Need some help, post on the forum! Get in touch
with people. Don't forget that WE
ALL make the camp. We haven't employed somebody to take care of
everything. It's not a school trip where we do what we are told to.
BE FREE! BE ACTIVE! THINK! BE CREATIVE! OK guys, I know you got
the idea. So I count on you ;)
When
Friday, 24 August - Sunday, 2 September 2007. One big week people! We'll make it one GREAT week!
The prices
 |
Well, it's free! That's the idea: no industry, just friends coming to have a good time. So you have no excuse :)
|
Now, about food and drink: the beer's price starts at 0.5 euros, pizza at around 2 euros... so you won't starve! If you want to stay in a hostel rather than in a tent, there are double rooms for around 10 euros per night. OK, that's it. The idea is: don't worry about prices!! |

How to get there
First Step: arrive in Bucharest
There are some low cost flights to Bucharest: whichbudget1 or whichbudget2 You can also try a cheap flight to Varna, in Bulgaria which is on the Black Sea coast: whichbudget3
If you care about the environment and don't want to use the plane, look for coach companies. Eurolines is the most known.
Second step: arrive in Mangalia Wherever you are in Romania take a train / coach to Mangalia (250 km)
Third and final step: arrive in Vama Veche Once
in Mangalia you're almost there. Just one more bus and in a couple of
minutes you'll be in Vama Veche. Horrray!!! There will be signs
indicating the place where the camp is.
Maps
Google link to Vama Veche: VamaVeche Zoom out to localize it in Romania. Constanta county road map: Constanta Vama Veche (not on the map) is in the buttom right corner, near Mangalia. Romania road map: Romania. Constanta is in the buttom right corner.

Hitch Hiking
Guys, I have some good and bad news. Which one do you want to hear first? OK,
then the bad one first: Romania is the only country in the World where
hitch hiking is not free (in general)!! So don't be surprised if people
expect you to pay for the ride. Wait, wait, wait! Here comes some
good news: it doesn't mean that there's no way to hitch hike without
paying ;) Just let the driver know right from the start that you won't
pay. Say the usual story "sunt student, nu am bani" (which means "I'm
student, I don't have money"). It normally works! If it doesn't, wait
for the next one.
Now, I know the purists will not agree with me :) but you can also try hitch hiking on line @ www.hitchhikers.org
What else this summer?
If you like camps or festivals (and i bet you do) then you might want to pass by:
Sziget Festival in Budapest and the HC Hungary Camp . They are just before the Black Sea Camp so we might meet there ;)
friendly us
PS: Don't forget to register!!
